Our take on the Uxcell Magnetic Vent Cover for Floor Wall Air Registers

The Uxcell Magnetic Vent Cover is a flexible magnetic sheet that sticks over a floor or wall air register to block or redirect airflow. It is a low-cost fix for rooms that get too much heat or cold, or for sealing off unused vents. Its best new price is $18.79 at Walmart as of November 4, 2026, and only one store lists it new, so there is no meaningful price range to compare against.

Questions and answers

Will it stick to my vent?
Only if the register face is steel or another magnetic metal. Plastic, aluminum and painted-over grilles won't hold it.
Can I cut it to size?
Yes, magnetic vent covers are typically trimmed with household scissors to match the register opening. Cut slightly larger than the opening for a better seal.
Does it block airflow completely?
It blocks most of the airflow, but strong pressure can lift the edges. It is better for reducing flow than for a perfect airtight seal.
Is it safe to cover a vent?
Covering a supply vent in a room you use can raise pressure in the duct system. Close no more than a few vents and watch for noise or reduced airflow elsewhere.
Is $18.79 a good price?
Walmart lists it at $18.79 as of November 4, 2026, and it is the only new listing. Compare against multi-packs, which often cost less per cover.
