Our take on the V15 Quad Sided Gas-Strut Pop Up Power Outlet

The V15 is a countertop pop-up outlet with four US three-prong receptacles on four sides of a gas-strut column. It is UL listed, has a 15 A / 125 V rating (1,875 W total) and an integrated overload protector, and it drops flush into a countertop when closed. The 6 ft cord reaches most under-counter circuits. The best new price is $89.95 at Modern Power Solutions US as of November 3, 2026, and only one store lists it new, so there is no meaningful price history to compare against.

Pros
  • Four outlets on four sides, so bulky adapters do not block each other
  • Gas strut opens and closes smoothly and holds the column up
  • Flush blank top sits nearly level with the counter when closed
  • UL listed with a built-in overload protector and tamper-resistant shutters
  • 6 ft cord gives some placement flexibility
Cons
  • Requires a 3 1/8-inch or similar hole cut in the countertop
  • Total load capped at 1,875 W, so not for space heaters plus other heavy draws
  • No USB ports or data modules
  • White finish only
  • Single-store availability limits price comparison

Questions and answers

Is the V15 worth it over a plain countertop outlet strip?
If you want outlets that disappear when not in use and can cut a hole in the counter, yes. A strip is cheaper but stays visible and slides around.
How big a hole does it need?
Pop-up outlets of this type typically need a round hole around 3 to 3 1/8 inches across and about 3 inches of clear depth below the counter. Check the cutout spec before drilling.
Can it run a microwave or space heater?
It handles up to 15 A and 1,875 W total across all four outlets. A typical microwave is fine; a 1,500 W space heater leaves little headroom for anything else.
Does it have USB ports?
No. This model is four standard US three-prong outlets only, with no USB or data modules.
How is it powered?
It plugs into a standard outlet with its 6 ft cord, so no hardwiring is needed. You still need a free outlet under the counter.
When is it cheapest?
Only one store lists it new at $89.95 as of November 3, 2026, so there is no recent range to time a purchase against. Watch for seasonal kitchen and renovation sales.
