Is the Vaio 14 with Core i3 good for everyday use?

Yes for browsing, email, documents and streaming. The 6-core i3 and 512GB SSD handle those well. Heavy multitasking or editing will feel the 8GB RAM limit.

Can I upgrade the RAM or storage?

The 512GB SSD is the main storage and is generally replaceable. Vaio's slim 14-inch design typically leaves memory fixed, so buy the 8GB model only if it fits your workload.

How long does the battery last?

Vaio rates it at up to 10 hours. Expect closer to 6 to 8 hours of mixed use at moderate brightness.

Does it have a backlit keyboard and fingerprint reader?

Yes. The keyboard is backlit and there is a fingerprint sensor for Windows Hello sign-in.

Is $616.99 a good price?

It is the only new price listed as of November 7, 2026, at Best Buy, so there is no recent range to judge against. Compare it with similarly spec'd 14-inch aluminum laptops before buying.
