Is this mat worth it over interlocking drainage tiles?

A roll is cheaper per square foot and installs faster with fewer seams. Tiles are easier to replace in small sections and come with edge pieces, so pick tiles if you need a finished border.

Can I cut it to fit my space?

Yes. The PVC cuts with a sharp utility knife or heavy shears. Measure twice, since a 16.4 ft roll gives you little room for error on short runs.

How much area does one roll cover?

A 3 x 16.4 ft roll covers about 49 square feet. That is roughly a two-car garage bay or a long pool deck walkway.

Does it work in a shower or bathroom?

Yes, the hollow channels drain water and the surface is non-slip. It is 0.6 in thick, so check door clearance before laying it in a small bathroom.

Rinse with a hose or wipe with a damp cloth. Lift the roll every few weeks to flush out hair and grit trapped in the channels.

What reviewers say

Owners of this type of hollow PVC matting generally report it does what it claims: water drains through, the surface stays grippier than bare concrete, and it cleans up with a hose. Complaints tend to focus on debris collecting in the channels and on the mat shifting or curling at the edges until it is weighted or trimmed.

Pros

Keeps standing water off walking surfaces
Holds up to constant wet and grease
Easy to rinse and cut to fit

Cons

Channels collect hair and grit
Edges can curl or slide without fastening
Can be slippery under soap or oil
