Our take on the Vitamix Commercial 075757-ABAP Power-Prep Countertop Food Blender w/ Tritan Container

The Vitamix Power-Prep is a commercial countertop blender built for smoothie shops, cafes and juice bars. It uses a variable-speed dial with a pulse setting and ships with a Tritan copolyester container rather than the polycarbonate jar on older Vitamix commercial models. It is a step below the full-size Vita-Prep line in capacity and price, aimed at lower-volume counters. No current price was provided for this listing, so compare it against the Vita-Prep 3 and the Quiet One before buying.

Questions and answers

Is the Power-Prep worth it over a home Vitamix?
For a business blending many times a day, yes: the commercial motor and housing are rated for continuous counter use. For home use, a standard Vitamix costs less and blends just as well for one or two servings.
How does it compare with the Vita-Prep 3?
The Vita-Prep 3 has a larger container and a more powerful motor for high-volume bars. The Power-Prep suits lower-volume counters and costs less.
What container does it come with?
It ships with a Tritan copolyester container. Tritan is lighter and more impact-resistant than polycarbonate but can scratch and haze with heavy use.
Does it have preset programs?
No. It has a variable-speed dial and a pulse switch, so staff set speeds manually. That is simpler to repair but requires training.
When is it cheapest?
Commercial Vitamix prices move little, but restaurant supply dealers and refurbished units are usually the lowest. Compare quotes across dealers before buying.
