Is the Vitra Noguchi Coffee Table worth it?

If you want a recognized design piece that anchors a living room, yes. If you mainly need a surface for drinks and remotes, a plain table costs far less.

What are the exact dimensions?

1280 mm long, 920 mm deep and 400 mm high, with a 19 mm glass top. Check your sofa and rug layout; it needs a fair amount of open floor.

Which base finish should I choose?

Black lacquered ash is the most graphic and hides marks best. Natural maple is lighter and warmer; oiled walnut is the richest and usually the most expensive.

Is the glass top safe for everyday use?

The 19 mm glass is thick and rounded at the edges, and it handles normal use. Avoid dropping heavy objects on it and use coasters for hot drinks.

How is it shipped and assembled?

It ships as a glass top plus two wooden base elements. Assembly is simple in principle but the glass is heavy, so plan for two people and a level floor.

When is the best time to buy?

Our take on the Vitra Noguchi Coffee Table

The Vitra Noguchi Coffee Table is Isamu Noguchi's 1944 design: a 19 mm glass top resting on two identical curved wooden elements set at right angles. Vitra makes it in black lacquered ash, natural lacquered maple or natural oiled walnut, at 1280 x 920 x 400 mm. The best new price is $2,526.00 at Deplain.com as of November 5, 2026, with two stores listing it new. That is a premium price for a piece that is part sculpture and part table.
