Is the Vornado UH100 worth it at $99.99?

At $99.99 at Home Depot as of November 3, 2026, it is a solid value for a 600 sq. ft. room humidifier with a humidistat. Comparable ultrasonic units with auto mode often cost more.

How often do I need to refill the tank?

The tank holds 1 gallon and the unit can put out up to 2 gallons per day. On high in dry air, expect to refill roughly once or twice a day; on low it lasts longer.

Does it work with hard water?

It runs on hard water, but the mineral cartridge is there to reduce white dust. In very hard water you will still see some dust and should replace the cartridge on schedule.

Can I control it from my phone?

No. The UH100 has no app or remote control. You set speed and humidity on the unit itself, and the humidistat and auto shutoff take over from there.

What comes in the box?

You get the humidifier base, the 1-gallon removable tank and a mineral cartridge. Replacement cartridges are sold separately.

Humidifiers usually drop in price in fall and around holiday sales. The current $99.99 at Home Depot is already near the bottom of its recent range, so waiting may not save much.
