Our take on the Weather Guard 359-5-02 Transfer Tank

The Weather Guard 359-5-02 is a 75-gallon steel transfer tank in a tall column shape, 27 inches high and 12.5 inches square, meant to carry diesel or other fuel in a full-size pickup bed. It mounts on a steel bed plate, has a lockable vented filler cap, and uses rubber isolation bushings to damp road vibration. The black ARMOR TUF powder coat is the finish Weather Guard uses across its truck boxes. At $1,520.99 at eBay as of November 3, 2026, it is the only new price listed, so there is no recent range to compare against.

Questions and answers

Is the Weather Guard 359-5-02 worth it?
If you need to carry up to 75 gallons of fuel in a full-size pickup and want a lockable steel tank, it does that job with a durable powder coat finish. At $1,520.99 at eBay as of November 3, 2026, it is a serious spend, so compare it with aluminum tanks if weight matters to you.
Does it come with mounting hardware?
No. The tank mounts to a steel bed plate, but the mounting hardware is not included, so budget for a bed plate and fasteners separately.
What is the capacity and size?
It holds 75 gallons and measures 27 inches high and 12.5 inches wide by 12.5 inches deep. That narrow column shape fits most full-size pickup beds.
Is the filler cap lockable?
Yes. The vented filler cap locks, which helps prevent siphoning and lets the tank vent properly.
Will it fit my truck?
Weather Guard lists it for most full-size pickups. Check your bed length and the space beside your toolbox or hitch before buying, since the tank is 27 inches tall.
When is it cheapest?
Only one new price, $1,520.99 at eBay as of November 3, 2026, was listed, so there is no recent low to time a purchase against. Watch for seasonal sales at truck equipment retailers.
