Do I need to register the Wefone WF30 with the FAA?

In the US, drones under 249 grams flown recreationally do not need FAA registration or Remote ID. The WF30 is listed under 249 grams, but check the actual weight of your unit with battery installed.

Is the 4K camera good enough for serious video?

No. It is a small sensor with electronic adjustment only, no mechanical gimbal, so expect phone-level footage at best and shaky video in wind. It suits casual clips, not production work.

How long can it actually fly?

Each battery is rated at 20 minutes, and the listing's 40 minutes assumes two batteries flown back to back. Real flight time with wind and camera use is usually shorter.

Does it come with batteries and a controller?

The listing includes a transmitter and describes two modular batteries. Confirm the exact bundle with the store before ordering, since pack contents vary.

Is $69.79 a good price?

At $69.79 at Walmart as of November 7, 2026, it is cheap for a GPS drone with brushless motors. Two stores price it new, so compare both before buying.

Can it follow me or fly a set route?

Yes. It lists Follow Me and Waypoint Flight modes, plus GPS return home and one-key return.

What reviewers say

3.2 / 591 ratings

Ratings are middling at 3.2 out of 5 across 91 ratings, so buyers are split. The pattern for budget GPS drones like this is that the GPS return and easy controls please beginners, while video quality and real battery life fall short of the claims.

What people mention

Video qualityCriticisedBuyers report the footage looks softer than true 4K, which is common when a small sensor upscales.
Battery lifeCriticisedOwners say real flights fall well short of the 20 minutes per battery quoted.
Ease of usePraisedBeginners find the one-key takeoff, landing and GPS return simple to use.
StabilityMixedOptical flow and GPS hold help indoors and in calm air, but wind makes footage shaky without a gimbal.
BuildMixedThe foldable frame is light and portable, but the plastic arms feel fragile in a crash.
