Is the Harmony Modular worth it over a cheaper sectional?

If you want to rearrange the layout or add seats later and need washable covers, the modular build justifies part of the premium. If you just need a fixed sofa, a standard sectional usually costs less.

How does it compare with West Elm's Harmony non-modular sofa?

The modular version uses the same deep seat and pillow-back look but comes in separate pieces you can reconfigure. The fixed sofa is simpler and often cheaper for the same footprint.

Are the cushion covers machine washable?

West Elm lists the covers as removable; check the specific fabric care label, since velvet usually needs cold gentle washing or professional cleaning rather than a hot dryer cycle.

How big a room does the small configuration need?

The small configuration is aimed at apartments and smaller living rooms, so measure your space and doorway before ordering. Modular pieces ship separately, which helps with tight halls and stairs.

You get the individual modular pieces for the configuration you order plus the seat and back cushions. Legs and any connectors are included; assembly is mostly attaching legs and joining pieces.

West Elm runs frequent furniture promotions, often 20–30% off, around holiday weekends and seasonal sales. Buying during one of those events is usually cheaper than paying list.

Our take on the West Elm Harmony Modular Small Sectional

The West Elm Harmony Modular Small Sectional is a configurable fabric sofa with a wood frame, pillow back and removable cushions, sold in a Dijon velvet cover. Its modular pieces let you rearrange the layout or add seats later, and the removable, washable covers suit households that want easier upkeep. It is a mid-priced to upper-mid-priced sectional from a mainstream design retailer; watch the price against West Elm's frequent 20–30% off furniture promotions rather than paying list.
