Our take on the West Elm Harris Twin Sleeper Sofa Performance

The Harris is a modern legged sleeper sofa that folds out to a twin gel-foam mattress, sized at 50 inches wide and 90 inches deep when open. It is built on a kiln-dried engineered hardwood frame with hand-finished upholstery, fiber-wrapped high-resiliency foam seat cushions and a choice of Deluxe Velvet or Performance Distressed Velvet. Best forGuest rooms and home offices that double as a bedroomSmall apartments where a full-size sofa bed won't fitBuyers who want a velvet look with a performance optionLight commercial or rental use (contract-grade build)

Pros

Folds out to a true twin gel-foam mattress, not a thin futon pad
Two-layer gel and high-density foam mattress sleeps cooler than plain foam
Kiln-dried hardwood frame and hand-finished upholstery
Contract-grade rating for commercial or rental use
Compact 50-inch width fits tight rooms

Cons

At 90 inches deep when open, it needs clear floor space in front
Twin sleeper suits one adult or a child, not couples
Velvet, even performance velvet, needs more care than flat-weave fabric
Only one new price tracked, so there is little to compare against
