Is 5x refined butane worth it over cheaper cans?

For torch lighters and small jets, yes. Cleaner fuel means fewer clogs and longer intervals between cleanings. For a basic disposable-style lighter, the difference is small.

Will these cans fit my torch lighter?

They use the standard butane fill nozzle found on most cigar torches, kitchen torches and refillable lighters. Lighters with a recessed or unusual valve may need an adapter, which is not included.

How many cans do I get?

The listing is a 12-can case, each can 420 ml (12 oz). That is roughly a year of regular torch use for most people.

Does this butane have a smell?

It is sold as non-odorized, so it has little smell compared with standard butane. Any fuel should still be used in a well-ventilated area.

When is the best time to buy a case?

Case prices move with the per-can price, so compare the case total against single cans. Bulk cases are often cheapest when a store runs a fuel promotion.

Our take on the Whip-It! 5x Refined Butane 12 oz

Whip-It! 5x Refined Butane is a 420 ml (12 oz) can of near-pure butane sold in a 12-can case, meant for refilling lighters, cigar torches and kitchen torches. The 5x refinement and near-zero impurity claim are the selling points: cleaner fuel means fewer clogs and less soot in small jets. The 12-can case is a bulk buy, so the per-can price matters more than the sticker. It is fuel, not a device, and it ships as a heavy case (about 4.3 kg).
