Wicker Hamper | Extra-Large Round Woven Laundry Basket w/Lid

Handcrafted Quality: Handwoven from rattan reed over a solid hardwood bottom about a half inch thick, with a hardwood rim, two leather handles riveted through the weave and a solid wood lid, by an Old Order Amish family on the Iowa-Missouri border, and signed by the weaver who made it.

A Lift-Off Lid: The lid is one piece of solid wood with a wooden knob. It lifts off in one hand and sets on the dryer while you fill the liner, and it closes flat over a week of laundry. If you want a lid that opens from either side, choose the Large Hamper with Hinged Lid instead.

The Extra Large Size: 18 inches across and 26 1/2 inches tall, measured on the outside at the rim. It holds more than one washer load.

Measures: 18" across x 26 1/2" tall. Contents not included.

Three Trim Colors: Choose Plain, Wine & Blue, or Wine & Green. The color is woven in as dyed reed, not painted on.

Optional Extras: A hand-sewn cotton liner made for this hamper, protective feet and an engraved solid brass plate are each optional and sold right on this page. The hamper ships unlined and is complete without them.

American Heritage: Handwoven in the USA and signed by the Amish weaver who made it. Backed by our lifetime guarantee, with free shipping and no-questions returns on every order.

Catherine wrote in 2020 that it "is large enough to handle the task & gives us more space in the room!" Janice, in 2024: "it looks so nice I had a hard time putting dirty clothes in it at first." Sara bought hers in 2026 as "my third purchase from Amish Baskets," and Cecelia found the weaver's signature "an added touch that I did not expect!"

Sarah wrote that it "is large enough to hold a complete set of double bed sheets and pillowcases and then has room for more." The lid, Jenny wrote in 2020, "fits to a "T" and the color matches our bedroom furniture like it was made with it." It lifts off.

Many of these hampers go out with the liner made for it , or get one later: Rhonda, in 2022, found that "The hand sewn liner fits the laundry hamper basket perfectly," and Sarah keeps hers to "remove the liner and use it as a laundry bag to transport dirty clothing." The hamper ships unlined, and the liner can be ordered from this page any time after it arrives. The bottom is solid hardwood, so an owner who wants it to roll can screw casters to it at home. For the same 18 inch round basket open and 14 inches tall, choose the Extra Large Round Basket ; for a corner, the Corner Hamper ; for a hinged lid, the Large Hamper with Hinged Lid ; for an oval that stands along a wall, the Oval Laundry Hamper . All the lidded ones are on the hampers with lids page .

An Old Order Amish family weaves it by hand on the Iowa-Missouri border, in the same community as the rest of our laundry baskets, and the weaver signs the bottom before it leaves the farm. Standard shipping is free, and rush delivery is offered at checkout when a birthday or Christmas is close. It ships gift-ready, with no prices in the box, a free gift note at checkout, and a short letter about the family who wove it. Like every basket we sell, it carries our lifetime guarantee, and returns are no questions asked.
