Our take on the Wireless Weather Station with Dual Displays, A8D Color, Outdoor Sensor Atomic Clock Rain Gauge Wind Speed Direction

This is a multi-sensor home weather station with a color LCD console and a second display, plus an outdoor sensor array that measures wind speed, wind direction and rain. It also sets its clock by atomic signal and shows indoor and outdoor temperature and humidity. Battery power means no outlet is needed, but you will replace cells periodically. The console is large at about 14.8 by 11.3 inches, so plan wall or shelf space. No current price or recent price range was provided, so check the latest best price against the price history on this page before buying.

Questions and answers

Is this weather station worth it?
It depends on whether you need wind and rain data. If you only want indoor and outdoor temperature, a simpler station costs less. If you want wind speed, direction and rainfall from your own yard, this covers all three.
Does it need Wi-Fi or an app?
Nothing in the specs mentions Wi-Fi, Bluetooth or an app. Expect a standalone system where the console talks to the outdoor sensor directly and shows readings on its own screens.
How is it powered?
It is battery powered, including the outdoor sensor array. That avoids running cables, but plan on replacing batteries, and use lithium cells outdoors in freezing winters.
How accurate is the rain gauge?
Tipping-bucket rain gauges like this are reasonably accurate when mounted level and clear of trees, roofs and walls. Keep the funnel clean of leaves and debris, and expect some undercounting in very heavy wind-driven rain.
What is in the box?
Typically the color console, the second display, the outdoor sensor array with mounting hardware, and a manual. Batteries are usually not included, so buy them separately.
When is it cheapest?
Weather stations tend to drop in price outside the fall gift season and during spring clearance. Check the price history on this page and set a alert rather than guessing.
