Our take on the Wishead Bamboo Mattress Topper Plush Mattress Pad Cover with Down Alternative Fill

The Wishead is a 2-inch plush mattress pad filled with down-alternative fiber and covered in bamboo viscose fabric. It is a budget way to soften a firm mattress rather than a true support layer. At $36.99 at Walmart as of November 6, 2026, it sits at the low end of its recent price range, so this is a good moment to buy if you want one.

Best forRenters and students softening a hard dorm or apartment mattressGuest beds that need a plusher feelShoppers on a tight budgetSleepers who run hot and want a breathable cover
Pros
  • 2-inch loft adds noticeable cushioning without changing mattress height much
  • Bamboo viscose cover feels cool and smooth against the skin
  • Down-alternative fill is vegan and machine washable
  • Full size at $36.99 at Walmart as of November 6, 2026 is cheap for the loft
  • Deep enough for most standard mattresses
Cons
  • Down-alternative fiber compresses and flattens over months of use
  • No real support; it will not fix a sagging or worn-out mattress
  • Loft shifts, so it needs occasional fluffing and rotating
  • Not waterproof, so it is not a mattress protector
  • Some owners report the fill clumps after washing
