Our take on the Women's 10K Gold 17 Inch Pendant Necklace

This is a 17-inch cable-chain necklace in solid 10K yellow gold with a small animal-shaped pendant, about 17mm long and 12.5mm wide. The chain is 1.25mm wide with a spring ring clasp and a polished finish. It is a lightweight, everyday piece rather than a statement necklace. At $250 at JCPenney as of November 5, 2026, it is the only new price listed, so there is no recent range to compare against.

Pros
  • Solid 10K gold, not gold-plated or filled
  • Spring ring clasp is simple and secure for a light pendant
  • Polished finish keeps it bright with a wipe-clean routine
  • 17-inch chain sits at the collarbone, a common everyday length
Cons
  • 1.25mm cable chain is thin and can kink or snap with rough wear
  • Spring ring clasps are less sturdy than lobster clasps
  • Only one store lists a new price, so there is little price competition
  • Small pendant may feel underwhelming for the price

Questions and answers

Is this real gold or plated?
It is solid 10K gold, marked as 10k on the metal. That means about 41.7% gold content, so it will not flake or wear through like plating.
Is a 1.25mm chain strong enough for daily wear?
It is thin. It holds a small pendant fine, but it can kink and is more prone to snapping if caught on clothing or pulled. Take it off for sports and sleeping.
Will a 17-inch chain fit?
17 inches sits at the collarbone on most adults, slightly higher than an 18-inch chain. It suits open necklines and layering with longer chains.
Is $250 a good price for this necklace?
Only one store, JCPenney, lists it new at $250 as of November 5, 2026, so there is no lower price to compare. Check the gold weight before buying; small 10K pendants often sell for less.
How should I care for it?
Wipe it with a soft cloth after wear and keep it dry. Store it flat or hanging to avoid kinks in the thin cable chain.
Where is the Women's 10K Gold 17 Inch Pendant Necklace cheapest?
At JCPenney, for $250.00, 71% off, as of our latest check.
Where can I buy the Women's 10K Gold 17 Inch Pendant Necklace?
3 stores we checked sell it, including Walmart, JCPenney, JTV.
