Our take on the Workpro 12V Cordless Drill Set

The Workpro 12V Cordless Drill Set is a budget drill driver with a 3/8-inch keyless chuck, a built-in light and a top speed of 750 rpm. It comes as a set with bits, aimed at light household work rather than heavy building. At $29.99 at Walmart as of November 5, 2026, it sits at the low end of its recent price range, so the current price is about as good as it gets.

Questions and answers

Is the Workpro 12V drill strong enough for home projects?
It handles light jobs like hanging shelves, assembling furniture and driving screws into wood or drywall. It is not suited to concrete, masonry or long sessions of heavy drilling.
What size bits does the chuck take?
The 3/8-inch keyless chuck takes bits with shanks up to 3/8 inch, which covers most common drill and driver bits. Larger bits with 1/2-inch shanks will not fit.
What comes in the box?
The set includes the drill driver and a selection of drill bits, per the listing. Battery and charger details are not specified, so confirm them with the store before buying.
Is $29.99 a good price for this drill?
Yes. At $29.99 at Walmart as of November 5, 2026, it is at the low end of its recent range, and only two stores list it new, so there is little room to save further.
How does it compare with an 18V drill?
An 18V drill gives more power and speed for heavier work but costs more. The 12V Workpro is lighter and cheaper, which suits occasional light use.
Where is the Workpro 12V Cordless Drill Set cheapest?
At Walmart, for $29.99, as of our latest check.
Where can I buy the Workpro 12V Cordless Drill Set?
3 stores we checked sell it, including eBay, Walmart, Sears.
