Questions and answers

Is the XbotGo Chameleon worth it for filming youth soccer?
Yes, if you film alone and want the camera to follow the play. It costs $239.95 at eBay as of November 4, 2026, well below what a camera plus operator would cost.
Does it need a subscription for cloud storage?
Storage is cloud-based, so plan on an ongoing plan or account for footage. Check the storage terms before buying.
Can it record in portrait for social media?
Yes. It has a portrait video recording mode alongside standard landscape 4K.
What do I need to mount it?
A tripod with a 1/4-inch screw. The camera is not handheld and weighs 1.19 lbs, so use a stable tripod.
How does it compare with a GoPro or a phone on a gimbal?
The Chameleon tracks subjects automatically and has sport-specific modes, which a plain action camera or phone does not. You trade some portability and local storage for that automation.
When is it cheapest?
