Is this an air conditioner?

No. It is a fan that moves air and claims evaporative cooling. It will not lower room temperature the way an air conditioner does.

How loud is it really?

The listing rates it at 45–50 dB. That is roughly the level of a quiet conversation, fine for background noise but audible in a silent bedroom at the top speed.

Can I use it without mounting it on a wall?

The listing describes it as wall mounted but also mentions desktop use. Check the box contents for a stand or base before buying if you plan to keep it on a desk.

Does it work with a phone app?

Yes, it supports app control for speed, timer and modes. The listing does not name the app or say whether it works with Alexa or Google Home.

Is a brushed motor a problem?

Brushed motors are cheaper and wear faster than brushless ones. Expect a shorter service life and more maintenance than a brushless fan at a similar size.

Our take on the XMMSWDLA Wall Mounted Fan

The XMMSWDLA Wall Mounted Fan is a small bladeless-style fan that mounts on a wall or sits on a desk, aimed at bedrooms, dorms and bathrooms where floor space is tight. It has three wind speeds, a timer, app control and a brushed motor rated at 45–50 dB. It is a cooling fan, not an air conditioner, despite the listing's wording. No current price or price history was provided, so there is no basis to judge whether its latest price is a good one.
