Our take on the Yamaha Clavinova CSP-275 GrandTouch-S with Wooden Keys Tablet Controlled Smart Piano

The Yamaha Clavinova CSP-275 is a digital home piano with 88 wooden-key GrandTouch-S action, three pedals and a built-in speaker system, controlled mainly through the Smart Pianist app on a tablet. Its Stream Lights and Audio-to-Score features make it unusually approachable for beginners and for players who learn by ear. It is a large, heavy cabinet piano at 133 kg and roughly 143 cm wide, so it needs floor space and two people to move. Pricing varies by store and bundle; check the current best price against its recent range before buying, since Clavinova prices move with promotions and bench or delivery bundles.

Questions and answers

Is the CSP-275 worth it over the CSP-255?
The CSP-275 adds the 88-key GrandTouch-S wooden-key action and a more powerful speaker system over the CSP-255. If key feel and volume headroom matter to you, the upgrade is meaningful; casual players may be satisfied with the lower model.
Do I need a tablet to use it?
The piano plays on its own, but most sound selection, virtual venue settings and learning features run through the Smart Pianist app on a tablet. A tablet is not included, so budget for one.
How does it compare with a Yamaha CLP or acoustic upright?
It sits between the CLP line and an acoustic upright: wooden keys and strong speakers, but with app-driven learning tools an acoustic cannot offer. An acoustic upright still gives true string resonance and needs tuning.
What is in the box?
Owner's manual, a USB Type-C to Type-C cable, power cord and registration information. A bench is included in some regions but not others, so confirm with the store.
Can I use headphones and Bluetooth?
Yes. There is a headphone output for silent practice, and Bluetooth supports audio streaming and MIDI. Binaural sampling is designed for headphone listening.
When is it cheapest?
Clavinova prices tend to dip during store promotions and holiday sales, and bundles with bench or delivery can change the effective price. Compare the current best price with its recent range before buying.
Where can I buy the Yamaha Clavinova CSP-275 GrandTouch-S with Wooden Keys Tablet Controlled Smart Piano?
2 stores we checked sell it, including Strait Music, Presto Music.
