Is this a drumset or a marching kit?

It is a marching kit. The pieces are configured for field and pep-band use, not for sitting behind a drumset.

What is included in the box?

The set includes four drums (tom-tom, floor tom and bass drum among them) and three cymbals, pre-configured as a kit.

Is $719.99 a good price?

It is the lowest new price found as of November 7, 2026, with only two stores listing it new. That makes it a reasonable entry point for a full Yamaha marching kit.

Does it come in other colors?

This listing is the red version. Yamaha offers other finishes in its marching line, but availability varies by store.

Can I use it for a school drumline?

Yes. The sizes and configuration suit school and college drumlines, though check with your director on the specific drum sizes your line requires.

Our take on the Yamaha SBP8F3CR

The Yamaha SBP8F3CR is a red marching drum kit built around Yamaha's SBP series bass drum shell, paired with toms, a floor tom and three cymbals. It is a pre-configured set aimed at marching and pep-band players rather than a studio kit. At $719.99 at Musician's Friend as of November 7, 2026, it sits at the low end of what this kit has recently sold for.
