Our take on the Zagg Pro Keys with Trackpad for iPad Pro 12.9" (3rd/4th/5th/6th Gen)

The Zagg Pro Keys with Trackpad is a keyboard case that turns the 12.9-inch iPad Pro (3rd through 6th generation) into a laptop-style setup. It pairs over Bluetooth, adds a built-in trackpad and a single-color backlit keyboard, and folds into a stand. It weighs about 2 pounds and has no number pad. The best new price is $209.59 at Staples as of November 8, 2026, and only one store lists it new.

  • Trackpad is smaller than a laptop's

Questions and answers

Does it work with every 12.9-inch iPad Pro?
It fits the 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th generation 12.9-inch iPad Pro. Older 12.9-inch models and the 11-inch Pro are not supported.
How does it connect?
It pairs over Bluetooth, so it does not use the iPad's Smart Connector. That means it needs its own charging.
Is there a number pad?
No. The layout is a compact English keyboard without a number pad.
How heavy is it?
The keyboard case weighs about 32.6 ounces, or roughly 2 pounds, before you add the iPad.
Is the keyboard backlit?
Yes, with a single-color backlight. There is no per-key RGB or multi-color option.
Is $209.59 a good price?
It is the only new price listed, at Staples as of November 8, 2026, so there is no competing new price to compare against. Check whether a refurbished or open-box unit costs less before buying.
Where is the Zagg Pro Keys with Trackpad for iPad Pro 12.9" (3rd/4th/5th/6th Gen) cheapest?
At Staples, for $209.59, as of our latest check.
