Our take on the Zealsound XLR/USB Dynamic Microphone for Gaming Podcast

The Zealsound is a budget dynamic microphone with three ways to connect: USB for plug-and-play computer use, XLR for a mixer or audio interface, and a mini-jack for phones and cameras. It is unidirectional, so it favors the voice in front of it over room noise, which suits gaming, streaming and podcasting in an untreated room. At $36.99 at Walmart as of November 4, 2026, it sits at the low end of what dynamic USB/XLR mics cost; most name-brand options run $60 to $130.

Best forFirst-time streamers and podcasters on a tight budgetGamers who want voice chat without a mixerBuyers who want one mic for USB now and XLR laterRecording on a phone or camera via mini-jack
Pros
  • Three connectors cover USB, XLR and phone or camera use
  • Dynamic capsule rejects more room noise than a condenser
  • Unidirectional pickup keeps the voice forward
  • Low price for a mic with XLR output
  • Simple setup for beginners
Cons
  • Few reviews so far, and little long-term reliability data
  • Dynamic mics need to sit close, so boom placement matters
  • No on-mic gain or monitoring controls listed
  • Wireless and hybrid signal claims are vague; expect a cable for most setups
  • Budget mics often ship without a stand or cable

Questions and answers

Is the Zealsound mic worth it at $36.99?
At $36.99 at Walmart as of November 4, 2026, it is one of the cheapest ways to get a dynamic mic with both USB and XLR. If you need proven long-term reliability, spend more on a name brand.
Does it work with a mixer or audio interface?
Yes. The XLR output connects to a mixer or interface, and the USB output plugs straight into a computer. You do not need both at once.
Can I use it with my phone?
It lists a mini-jack connector for phone use. Check that your phone has a headphone jack or use the right adapter, since many newer phones do not.
Do I need a stand or boom arm?
A dynamic mic works best close to your mouth, so plan on a desk stand or boom arm. Confirm what is in the box before ordering, since budget mics often ship without one.
How does it compare with a USB condenser mic?
A dynamic mic like this picks up less room echo and keyboard noise. A condenser captures more detail but needs a quieter, treated room.
When is it cheapest?
Only one store listed a new price, $36.99 at Walmart as of November 4, 2026. Watch for sale periods like Black Friday and back-to-school.
