Questions and answers
- When does Appomattox River Co. have sales?
- The shop discounts most heavily at end of season, when outgoing models and rental fleet boats are cleared. Spring demo days and holiday weekends also bring markdowns. The Vapor 10 and Castine 135 deals on this page reflect that pattern.
- Where is the cheapest place to buy an Old Town kayak?
- Compare against big-box and online retailers, since Old Town sets minimum advertised prices and most dealers sit close together. A local shop like Appomattox River Co. often matches the lowest price and adds assembly and fitting. Factor in freight, which is $100 or more on a shipped kayak.
- What are Appomattox River Co.'s best-selling products?
- Old Town recreational kayaks lead, particularly the Vapor 10 for flatwater and the Castine 135 for touring. Canoes, paddles, PFDs and roof racks round out the mix. The shop also services and stores boats.
- What is the return policy at Appomattox River Co.?
- Ask the shop directly before ordering, because kayak returns are usually limited to unused boats in original condition within a short window, and special orders are often final sale. Freight on a returned kayak is typically the buyer's cost. Confirm the terms in writing for the Vapor 10 or Castine 135.
