Best 15-inch Windows laptops under $250

Short answer: nothing I found is a clean match. Every 15-inch Windows laptop in budget here is listed without a backlit keyboard, so treat the backlight as the thing to verify before you buy.

• HP 15.6" Full HD — the value pick: full HD screen, SSD storage, Windows, and the lowest price of the group. Best for browsing, documents and streaming on a desk.
• Molegar 15.6" FHD Business Laptop — the one with a stated rating; a pink chassis and modest N-series processor, so fine for light everyday work.
• ASUS Q505UA 2-in-1 — the most capable of the bunch (Core i5, 12 GB RAM, touchscreen, convertible hinge) for someone who wants a tablet mode too, but it's an older machine and the listing doesn't confirm Windows.
• HP Pavilion x360 15 and Lenovo Edge 15 — convertible and touch options if you want a 360 hinge; specs aren't listed, so ask before buying.

If the backlight is non-negotiable, expect to look at slightly newer 15-inch models above this budget.
