Best 17.3-inch laptops

Top pick: HP 17.3" Full HD with Ultra 7 255U, 16GB, 1TB (Windows 11 Pro). It's the most balanced 17.3" here — a current-generation processor, a full-HD screen and enough memory and storage to last years, with the Pro edition handy if you'll use it for work.

Who the others suit:

• HP 17.3" Touchscreen, 24GB/1TB — if you want a touchscreen and lots of memory for heavy multitasking.
• HP 17.3" FHD Business, 8GB/256GB — a light, budget everyday machine for browsing, email and documents.
• NIMO 17.3" Gaming — if games or graphics work matter more than portability.
• HP 17" with 32GB RAM — if you run many apps at once, though its screen is lower resolution.

Avoid the HD+ (1600 x 900) models if you care about sharp text — at 17 inches the difference is obvious.
