Best 55-inch 4K smart TVs

Top pick: Samsung 55" M70HB Mini LED (2026). Mini LED backlighting gives it the contrast and brightness a bright living room needs, Tizen has every app, and it's the best-reviewed set here by a wide margin — the safest all-round choice.

Who the others suit:

• TCL S4 with Roku — the simplest, most familiar interface; great if you just want to stream and not fiddle.
• VIZIO Quantum QLED — quantum-dot colour at the low end; good for movie nights on a budget.
• TCL S41CG Google TV — if you prefer Google TV and Chromecast built in.
• TCL NXTFRAME QLED — 120 Hz and a picture-frame look; suits a design-led room.
• LG QNED75B — if you want LG's webOS and a Mini LED panel.
• Sony BRAVIA X90L — best motion handling for sports and film, though it's an older model and open box.
• Samsung S90D OLED — the pick for dark rooms and deep blacks; refurbished only.
