Best 55-inch OLED TVs

Top pick: LG C5 OLED evo (55") — the safest all-rounder. LG's OLED evo panel gives deep blacks, wide viewing angles and four HDMI 2.1 ports, so it suits movies and consoles equally, and it's the most widely reviewed of the bunch.

Who the others suit:

• LG C6 / Evo C6 — the newer generation of the same idea; pick it if you want the latest model and the higher refresh rate for gaming.
• Samsung S85F / S90H — brighter, punchier colour for a sunny room; no Dolby Vision.
• Sony BRAVIA 8 (K55XR80) — best for film fans who care about motion handling and built-in Google TV.
• Panasonic Z95BP — a niche pick for picture purists who want the most accurate out-of-box image.

Avoid the 65"+ listings if you're set on 55 inches.
