Is the Sony Bravia 8 worth it over a cheaper OLED?

If you want Sony's processing and gaming features in a 55-inch OLED, it is a solid pick. At $1,398 at Amazon as of November 5, 2026, compare it with rival OLEDs at the same size before deciding.

Does it support 120Hz and VRR for gaming?

Yes. The panel runs at 120Hz and supports VRR, and there are four HDMI ports for consoles and other devices.

What streaming apps are built in?

It is a smart TV with Netflix and Sony Pictures Core listed, and it connects over Wi-Fi or Ethernet for other streaming services.

How are the viewing angles?

Very good. Sony rates vertical viewing angle at 178 degrees, and the picture stays mostly consistent from almost any angle.

Will it reflect light in a bright room?

Yes. The screen is glossy, so bright sources like windows or lamps will reflect without much diffusion. A darker room suits it best.
