Best arcade stools

Top pick: the Namco Pac-Man bar stool — chrome frame, 360° swivel seat and a footring, and it comes in 19" (cabinet/desk height) or 30" (bar height), so it works whether you play seated at a home cabinet or stand at a counter. Officially licensed art is a bonus.

Who the others suit:

• Galaga 19" chrome — same build for Galaga fans; fixed height, so best for a standard cabinet.
• Ms. Pac-Man stools — the 19" version has double-ring footrests, comfier for long sessions; the 30" is for bar-height setups.
• JJP / Retro bar stool — plainer, sturdier-looking designs if you'd rather not have game art.
• Arcade1Up adjustable stool — the budget, adjustable-height option for casual play.
• Unico Nova Blast — premium pick for candy-cab players.

Skip the tiny Quarter Arcades stool: it's a 4.6" miniature, not a seat.
