Best boneless sofas

Top pick: Rove Lab M1 Three-Seater Boneless Sofa — the closest thing to a true "cloud" here: no frame, no springs, just foam wrapped in a spill-proof performance weave, and it's the one with a real track record behind it.

Who the others suit:

• Rove Lab Boneless Couch — same foam-only idea in a smaller, lighter footprint; best if you want the Rove feel in a tighter room.
• Ovios 104-Inch Boneless L-Shaped Couch — the pick for a big family room: deep seats, corduroy, and a very high weight rating.
• Afuson 107-Inch Boneless L-Shaped Couch — the biggest sprawl for the least outlay; good for a first cloud sofa.
• BEHOST 75.6" Boneless Couch — best-reviewed of the budget group and has side storage; suits a smaller living room.
• Berry Nest 118-Inch Sectional with Ottoman — choose it if you want the most colour choices and a chaise-plus-ottoman layout.

Skip the fold-out sleeper and the loveseat if you want a full three-seat cloud.
