Best Bose earphones

Top pick: Bose QuietComfort Ultra Earbuds (2nd Gen). They're the newest Bose in-ears and the ones reviewers single out for noise cancellation on flights, with Immersive Audio as the headline extra. If you want Bose's best all-round earbuds, start here.

Who the others suit:

• QuietComfort Ultra Earbuds II — same Ultra family, a solid alternative if the 2nd Gen isn't available in the colour you want.
• QuietComfort Earbuds — the simpler, cheaper Bose route: good ANC, no Immersive Audio.
• Bose Ultra Open-Ear — for people who hate things in their ears; open fit, no noise cancelling, so best for running and hearing traffic.
• Bose QuietComfort Ultra (over-ear) — not earphones, but the pick if you'd rather have headphones around your ears for long listening sessions.
