Best Christmas area rugs

Top pick: Wonnitar 8'x10' Christmas rug — a full-room size with the strongest owner feedback of the big rugs here (4.8 from 67 ratings), so it's the safest bet for a living room or under the tree.

Who the others suit:

• Moynesa 5'x7' — the best-reviewed mid-size option (4.6 from 392 ratings); ideal for a dining nook or entry.
• Tree Reindeer Christmas washable rug — pick this if kids, pets or slushy boots are a factor: machine-washable with a non-slip back, and it comes in sizes from 2'x3' up to 9'x12'.
• Boho Tree Snowflake washable — same washable idea in a softer, less literal pattern.
• Snowfall Celebration faux-wool tufted — the most premium look, for a room you want to feel plush rather than playful.
• Homespice jute braided rugs — small gingerbread and pinecone accents for a doorway or beside a chair; natural fibre, not washable.
• BLEUM CADE and SIXHOME — budget-friendly patterned options if you want colour without committing much.

Tip: measure first — most holiday rugs here top out at 5'x7', and only a few come in 8'x10'.
