Best cigar ashtrays

Top pick: La Aroma de Cuba Ceramic 4-Finger Ashtray — four rests, so it handles a full evening with friends, and ceramic holds up outdoors without rusting or tipping in wind.

Who the others suit:

• Prestige Smokin Quadrangle (stainless) — the sturdy, classic look for a patio table; steel won't chip if it gets knocked.
• Xikar Ceramic — a wide, low-profile tray that catches ash well and looks tidy indoors.
• Club Macanudo Square — light melamine, easy to wipe down and move around.
• Ounalong silicone — unbreakable, so it's the one for a boat, tailgate or windy balcony.
• Cigar Glass — a rest-and-glass combo for a single smoker who likes a drink alongside.
• Vertigo Road Trip — cup-holder size for the car.
• Nude Glass Fumo — crystal, for a lounge or study where looks matter most.

Skip anything with a single narrow slot if you smoke ring gauges over 60.
