Best DeWalt power tool combo kits

Top pick: DeWalt 20V MAX XR 6-Tool Combo Kit — the sweet spot. Brushless tools, two 5.0Ah batteries and a charger, so it covers drilling, driving, cutting and trimming without you buying anything else for years.

Who the others suit:

• 7-Tool Brushless "Site Ready" (DCK730P2) — the most complete kit here; pick it if you want one box that does nearly everything.
• 5-Tool Compact (DCK521D2) — lighter and simpler, ideal for apartment upkeep and small jobs.
• Hammer Drill + Atomic Impact (DCK2050M2) — best two-tool starter, and the easiest to carry.
• 4-Tool kit — the basics for a first home.
• DCK551 (18V) — only if you're already on DeWalt's older 18V batteries.
Skip the 7-tool DCK771D1M1 unless you specifically need the oscillating multi-tool.

Stick to one battery platform: 20V MAX kits share packs; the 18V ones don't.
