Best electrician tool sets under $60

Top pick: Milwaukee Electrician's Hand Tool Kit (4-piece). It's the classic starter kit — lineman's pliers, wire strippers and a multi-bit screwdriver — from a brand electricians actually carry, and it's the best-reviewed set here. Buy it if you want the essentials done right without overthinking it.

Who the others suit:

• Klein 85850 9-piece screwdriver set — if you already own pliers and just need insulated drivers; Klein is the trade standard for hand tools.
• Milwaukee 48-22-6119 kit — a slightly bigger kit for someone who wants a few more pieces in one box.
• 4-piece insulated set with wire strippers — the budget-friendly route for light home wiring and outlet swaps.
• iFixit electrician set — better for bench work, small electronics and precision jobs than for panel work.

Whatever you pick, check the pliers and drivers are rated for the voltage you'll work on, and add a non-contact voltage tester if the kit doesn't include one.
