Best kids dance mats

Top pick: ARESHEAT Kids LED Bluetooth Dance Mat — wireless, so no cable to trip over, and it's the best-reviewed of the kid-sized mats here. A solid first dance mat for one child.

Who the others suit:

• Kids Dance Mat Toy w/ LED Display — the simplest, most self-contained option: five dance modes and five languages, no phone or app needed.
• Kids' Bluetooth Dance Mat — the safest bet if you want a mat sold by several stores, so replacements and returns are easy.
• Handwell Double Dance Mat — for siblings or friends: two players on one mat, twelve buttons.
• Kids Dance Mat Double Player — the step up for competitive kids who want a bigger, sturdier two-player setup.
• Surelect Frozen Dance Mat — for a Frozen fan; nine challenge levels keep it interesting as they improve.

Skip the vinyl single-player mats if the mat will be folded and unfolded daily — they wear fastest.
