Best king size wooden headboards

Top pick: Signature Design by Ashley Lettner King/California King Panel Headboard — a tall, wide wood panel (about 84 in across, 60 in high) with a clean, versatile look and the strongest owner rating of the group. It's the safest choice if you want one headboard that suits most bedroom styles and fits a standard king frame.

Who the others suit:

• AFI Canyon Barnwood (King) — rustic farmhouse look, well rated, and the budget-friendly way into real wood.
• American Woodcrafters Stonebrook (King) — a plainer, more traditional panel if you prefer understated lines.
• New Classic Valentino (King) — pick this if you want built-in lighting at the head of the bed.
• Home Design Pomona bookcase headboard — best for small rooms: shelves plus a power outlet instead of pure looks.

Check the mounting height and whether the headboard needs a separate frame before you buy.
