Best modern farmhouse living room sets

Top pick: the Clearbrooke set — sofa, loveseat, chair and ottoman in one go, with turned faux-wood legs and a corner-blocked frame that reads farmhouse without going full rustic. It's the most complete set here for the money, and it's the one I'd start with.

Who the others suit:

• Stonemeade — the dark brown, traditional-leaning option if you want a warmer, cozier room.
• Darcy — a slightly smaller sofa footprint, good for tighter rooms.
• Greenbriar — a chaise sofa for lounging; best if you'd rather have one deep seat than a matched chair.
• Claredon — the step up in size and finish if you want a more substantial, upholstered look.
• Morden Fort chenille set — the most literally "farmhouse" styling, with throw pillows included.

Skip the Bovarian: no store currently sells it at a price we could confirm.
