Best Nintendo Switch 2 consoles

Top pick: the plain Nintendo Switch 2 console. It's the same hardware as every bundle here — 7.9-inch 1080p screen, 4K output when docked, magnetic Joy-Con 2 — so you pay for the console, not for a game you may not want. Buy the base unit and pick your own games.

Who the others suit:

• Mario Kart World bundle — the one to get if you want a game in the box on day one; it's the most popular bundle by far.
• Sports Resort bundle — good for families and party play.
• Pokémon Legends: Z-A bundle — for Pokémon fans.
• Zelda 40th Anniversary Edition — a collector's set; it's the priciest and rated lowest, so only if the edition itself matters to you.

Skip the multi-game and "deluxe" listings: they're the same console with extra software stacked on.
