Best queen bed sets with mattress and frame under $400

Start here: the Novilla PoemEase 12" hybrid mattress with the Classic Luxe upholstered platform frame. It's the only set that pairs a genuinely thick, cooling hybrid mattress with a proper upholstered frame, and it's the best-reviewed of the bunch — a safe bet if you want one box, one delivery and nothing else to buy.

Who the others suit:

• Ovios Boneless Cloud bed (beige or grey): for anyone who wants the soft, no-hardware "boneless" look and a headboard included — no assembly, but a plusher, less supportive feel.
• Vcatnet boneless bed: the same idea in pink, if colour is the deciding factor.
• Zinus fabric bed base & mattress set: the budget, no-frills route — basic innerspring on a simple base, fine for a guest room.
• Enrico and Calverson sets: furniture-store looks with a mattress included, but check the frame details — one needs a box spring and has a low weight limit.

Skip anything listed as frame-only: a few of these are just beds without a mattress.
