Best value laundry hampers

Start here: the SONGMICS hamper with removable bags. It's the best value in the group — a sturdy upright with a lid and pull-out bags, so you carry laundry to the machine instead of the whole basket, and it's rated 4.9 from 126 ratings.

Who the others suit:

• Big households: the 4-compartment SONGMICS (150 L) sorts lights, darks and delicates in one place.
• Small spaces: the narrow wicker hamper or the corner wicker one tuck into tight spots.
• Travelling or dorms: the mesh pop-up folds flat and costs almost nothing.
• Looks matter: the wicker hampers are the nicest-looking, and the 3-compartment wicker is the premium choice.
• Tight budget, still roomy: the 90 L SONGMICS with two liners.
