Best value unlocked Motorola smartphones

Top pick: Motorola Edge 2025 (256GB, unlocked). It's the best balance of value in Motorola's lineup — a big 6.67-inch pOLED display, a genuinely capable camera system and enough storage that you won't be juggling apps, all for mid-range money. If you want one phone to keep for three or four years, start here.

Who the others suit:

• Moto G Stylus 2025 — the pick if you take notes by hand or sketch; the built-in stylus is the reason to choose it, and it's a solid all-rounder otherwise.
• Moto G (2026) — the sensible everyday phone: simple, reliable and easy on the wallet, with a big battery for people who mostly text, browse and stream.
• Moto G Play (2026) — for a backup, a first phone or a kid's line, where the basics are all that matter.
• Motorola Edge 2024 — a cheaper route into the Edge line if you don't need the newest model; worth a look refurbished if you're comfortable with that.
• Motorola razr ultra 2025 — the fun choice: a folding flip that's genuinely pocketable. Pay for the design, not the value.
• Moto G Stylus 5G (2024) — the budget stylus option when the newer Stylus is more than you want to spend.

How to decide: buy the Edge 2025 unless the stylus or the flip form factor is what you actually want. Skip anything carrier-locked — check the listing says unlocked before you buy.
