Questions and answers
- Does Caran d'Ache go on sale?
- Caran d'Ache sets rarely get deep discounts, and the brand keeps list prices stable across retailers. Savings usually come from a store's own promotions or from buying open-stock pencils instead of full sets. The page currently shows no live deals.
- Where is Caran d'Ache cheapest?
- Prices vary by set size and retailer, so compare the same set across stores rather than across sizes. Larger sets like the 100-pencil Luminance box cost more per unit upfront but less per pencil than small sets. Check each product page for current store prices.
- What is the difference between Luminance 6901 and Pablo?
- Luminance 6901 pencils are lightfast, wax-based pencils with a soft, creamy core, aimed at archival work. Pablo pencils have a harder, drier core that holds a sharp point well for detail and layering. Luminance costs more per pencil than Pablo.
- Are Caran d'Ache pencils lightfast?
- The Luminance 6901 line is rated for high lightfastness, with most colors carrying the top ASTM rating. Pablo pencils are also lightfast but generally rated lower than Luminance. Check the individual color's rating if the work needs to last.
- What is the return policy on Caran d'Ache products?
- Returns depend on the store you buy from, not on Caran d'Ache. Check the retailer's policy for opened art supplies, since many stores treat used pencils as non-returnable. Keep the packaging until you have tested the set.
