The Nitro Max kit. It is a complete set for $449 and needs nothing else to start playing. The Pro module alone leaves you without pads or a rack.

Is the Pro module worth the extra $150?

Only if you already own compatible pads and a rack. Then you get 20 more kits, dual-zone toms and choke on the ride. As a first purchase it costs more and gives you less to play.

Can I use the Pro module with the Max kit's pads?

Yes. The Max pads connect to the Pro module, but the single-zone Max toms will not produce rim sounds. You would need Pro dual-zone toms to use that feature.

Which has more kits and sounds?

The Nitro Pro module: 52 BFD kits and over 500 sounds, against 32 kits and over 440 sounds on the Max. Both offer 16 user kit slots.

Which is quieter for an apartment?

Both use mesh heads, so both are quiet. The Max kit includes mesh toms and snare, and the Pro module's mesh pads are equally quiet if you pair it with them.

Do both have Bluetooth?

Yes. Both stream Bluetooth audio for play-along, and both have USB for computer connection. The Pro module adds an auxiliary input and 60 built-in play-along tracks.

The Nitro Pro module is the better sound engine, with 52 kits, 500+ sounds and dual-zone toms, but at $599 at Amazon as of November 5 it is a module alone, and you still need pads and a rack.
