Is the 1 TB model worth $229 more?

You get 512 GB more storage, Ethernet, USB-A and a 0.7 lb lighter body. A 1 TB NVMe drive costs well under $100, but swapping it yourself voids nothing on most Alienware units and still leaves the port and weight gap. At $1,199 versus $970, B is only worth it if you want those extras without opening the laptop.

Do both run the same games at the same frame rates?

Yes. Both use the RTX 4050 with the same 165 Hz 1920x1200 panel, so performance is effectively identical. Storage and ports are the real differences.

Which is better for school or travel?

B. At 4.3 lb versus 5 lb it is easier to carry, and the 1 TB drive holds more without an external SSD.

Which has better battery life?

Neither listing gives a battery figure, so there is no basis to pick one. Expect similar runtime since the core hardware matches.

Should I wait for a price drop?

B hit $944.90 on November 4, 2026, well below its $1,199 price on November 7. If you want B, set a price alert near $950. A has traded between $935 and $979 since October 28, 2026, so $970 is close to its floor.

Can I add more RAM later?

Both ship with 16 GB DDR5. Neither listing states whether the memory is soldered, so confirm with the seller before buying if you plan to upgrade.
