Is the 1 TB model worth about $250 more?

Only if you need the storage and lighter body. Both run the same Ryzen 5 220, RTX 4050 and 16 GB DDR5, so game performance is effectively identical. A 1 TB NVMe drive costs far less than $250, so A plus an upgrade is cheaper if you are willing to open the laptop.

Which is better for gaming?

Neither. Same GPU, CPU, RAM and 165Hz 1920x1200 panel, so frame rates match. The 1 TB model just holds more installed games.

Which lasts longer on a charge?

Battery figures are not published for either. The lighter 4.3 lb model may carry a smaller cell, but the same components and screen drive power draw, so expect similar runtime.

Can I upgrade the 512 GB model later?

Yes, it uses an M.2 NVMe SSD, and 16 GB DDR5 is already fitted. Check the slot count before buying if you want to keep the original drive.

Is the RTX 4050 enough for 165 fps?

Not in demanding titles at native 1200p. It handles esports games and older titles at high frame rates; newer AAA games will need lowered settings or DLSS to approach 165 fps.

Which has better cooling?

Both use Alienware's airflow design and Stealth Mode. B's listing names Cryo-tech explicitly, but the chassis and components are the same class, so expect comparable thermals.
