Which is better for a small apartment?

The Puleo pencil tree. At 6 ft tall and 24 in wide it fits hallways and corners where the 7.5 ft Balsam Hill will not.

Is the Balsam Hill worth the extra money?

If the tree is the centerpiece of your living room, yes. You get PE True Needle foliage, 1,200 LED lights and one-plug setup for $299.99 at eBay as of November 8, 2026.

Which has more lights?

The Balsam Hill, by a wide margin: 1,200 warm white LEDs versus 150 incandescent bulbs on the Puleo.

LEDs on the Balsam Hill should outlast the Puleo's incandescent bulbs, which burn out and need replacing. The Puleo keeps the rest of the strand lit when one bulb fails.

Can I use the Puleo outdoors?

No. It is rated for indoor use only, and so is the Balsam Hill.

Should I wait for the Balsam Hill price to drop?

Check its price history first. It has moved between $599.00 and $2,799.00 in recent days, so $299.99 at eBay is well below those levels.
