DeWalt DCD793D1 20V Drill/Driver Kit vs DEWALT DCK283D2 Combo Kit
Buy the DCD793D1 if you want one compact, light drill and nothing else. Buy the DCK283D2 if you drive a lot of screws and want a dedicated impact driver alongside a drill. The DCD793D1 is the newer, shorter, lighter drill: 6.38 in at the head and 2.38 lbs, versus the DCD791's 6.9 in and 3.4 lbs. The combo kit's DCD791 is an older generation and its 2.0Ah XR packs carry a fuel gauge, but the kit adds the DCF887 impact driver, a second battery and a bag. Owners of both lines praise the brushless motors and LED lights; the common complaint about the single drill is that one 2.0Ah pack runs down fast on heavy drilling.
- Choose the DCD793D1 if you want the smallest, lightest 20V DeWalt drill for cabinet, overhead and general drilling work, and one battery is enough.
- Choose the DCK283D2 if you fasten as much as you drill and want an impact driver, a spare battery and a bag in one kit.
