Which is better for pet hair?

Both are built for pet hair. The Dyson adds whole-machine HEPA filtration and a self-adjusting head that seals suction on carpet, which helps pull embedded hair. The BISSELL counters with a tangle-free brush roll and a much larger bin.

Which has the bigger bin?

The BISSELL. Its 0.26 gal bin holds more than four times the Dyson's 0.06 gal, so you empty it far less often on big jobs.

Is the Dyson worth the extra money?

At the Dyson's $159.99 high it costs less than the BISSELL's $164.99, so the extra is not an issue there. The $18.99 low is likely a pricing error. Compare current store prices before deciding.

Which is easier to move around?

Both steer well. The Dyson's ball design pivots on a wrist turn, and the BISSELL's swivel front makes tight turns. The Dyson is slightly lighter at 17 lb versus 18.31 lb.

Which is better on hard floors?

The Dyson's self-adjusting cleaner head raises and lowers to keep suction sealed across floor types. The BISSELL lists carpet, hardwood, laminate, tile, and upholstery as recommended surfaces.

Does either have a cord rewind?

Only the BISSELL. It has a 27-foot cord with automatic rewind. The Dyson's cord length is not specified and it has no rewind.

Dyson Ball Animal Pro Upright Vacuum vs BISSELL CleanView Swivel Rewind Pet 3837

Buy the Dyson Ball Animal Pro if you want the strongest deep-carpet cleaning and proven pet-hair tools. Buy the BISSELL CleanView Swivel Rewind Pet if you want a longer cord and a bigger bin for less emptying. The Dyson's lowest recent price was $18.99, far below the BISSELL's $164.99, but that Dyson figure looks like an outlier against its $159.99 high. At normal pricing the two are close, so pick on features, not price.
